Responsibilities

Summit Medical Group's Central Laboratory is seeking an Evening Shift Supervisor to join our laboratory technical team. This is a full time position (40 hours per week), reporting to the Administrative Director. NO WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS!

 

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package including a 401(k), with a generous company match, safe-harbor contribution, and profit sharing!  The selected individual will manage a group of six MTs and MLTs, which includes a Lead Tech, as well as evenng shift specimen processors.  Duties include general supervision of the shift, including preparing the schedule, approving timecards and vacation requests, managing performance, annual evaluations, and interviewing and hiring new staff.  Monitor QC, participate in QA activities, prepare for inspections, etc. 

 

Summit Central Laboratory is a very busy, high volume, and automated core laboratory.  We performed 9.4 million tests last year in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and molecular diagnostics. The Central Laboratory provides testing for all of the Summit Medical Group practices, which consists over over 400 providers at over 85 medical offices. Qualifications

    Education

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or equivalent.

 

    Experience

Four years of Laboratory experience with at least one year of laboratory management experience preferred.

 

    Certification/License 

State of TN Medical Laboratory General Supervisor’s license and ASCP Certification or equivalent required.
