Responsibilities

 

The Office of Dr. Sayani, a division of Summit Medical Group, is seeking a Physician Assistant to join their practice. This is a Full-time opportunity.

 

Responsibilities: (List does not include all duties assigned)

  • Performs complete physical exams, obtains complete medical histories, and records findings.
  • Orders (and, as appropriate, performs) appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
  • Determines preliminary diagnoses and therapeutic plans by obtaining, interpreting and integrating data.
  • Administers medications and injections in compliance with state law and clinic guidelines. Sutures minor lacerations.
  • Instructs patient/family regarding medications and treatments. Educates patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Collaborates with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients. Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits. Maintains and reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information. Posts tests and examination results. Triages patient telephone calls and provides consultation.
  • Maintains certification required for the position; Attends continuing medical education, as appropriate.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality.
  • Adheres to all aspects of the corporate compliance plan.
  • Actively participates in site-level Quality Improvement Activities. Each employee will contribute to the continual evaluation site performance as well as the implementation and measurement of improvement activities that increase the quality of care provided to patients.
  • Performs other related duties as appropriate.

Qualifications

Education: Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program required (typically 2 yrs) and completion of national certification exam.

 

Experience: Prefer a minimum of three years of experience in a clinic setting preferred.

 

Certification/License: Current Tennessee license required.
